Service Message
June 1, 2010 Change in WeatherMaster operations On June 5, 2010, WeatherMaster will no longer accept free accounts (of any kind) and will become a "paid service". For those wishing to convert to the paid service, you need only sign up again on the sign up form located within your state. For those continuing the free service, you may do so as long as the account is active. However, changes to free accounts will not be allowed. Our services start with the $20/year package and are listed on the states pages. Additional services are available on an "as needed" basis and are quoted as such. Current paid accounts (or commercial accounts) will see no changes in service. From time to time, selected accounts will be chosen to use our services free of charge
January 10, 2010 Beginning on June 1, 2010, ALL traffic originating from our WM2 server (wm2@weathermaster.biz) will cease. If you wish to continue to receive traffic from WeatherMaster, you will need to sign up again on your profile. This server affects about 20 users and we must re-vamp the use of this server to better serve our customers.
October 26, 2009 End of support users Beginning November 1, 2009, Centennial users will be absorbed into the AT&T system, hence there will be no further support of Centennial users. Centennial users currently on the system will continue to be active so long as AT&T accepts our traffic. If at any time AT&T ceases to accept Centennial traffic, those affected will have to re-sign up for the service. Former Alltel users have already been absorbed into the Verizon system. Effective the same date, support will end for TracFone users. TracFone has been uncooperative with our traffic and our support for those users will end on November 1, 2009. No new customers will be accepted, and existing users will have to find other means of receiving our traffic. May 31, 2009 Changes in the free online products Beginning on June 1, 2009, some of the current free offerings will be moving to the paid portion of our site. Greater demand for these products, along with the added server load, has caused this action to take place. The Local Storm Report (LSR), Civil Emergency Message (CEM), State Forecast (SFP), Regional Weather Roundup (RWR), Record Event Report (RER), and Regional Weather Summary (RWS), will be moved over to the paid (premium) services. These will be made available to entities that require the data services package of our services. Those currently receiving the above alerts will continue to do so, free of charge, for as long as the account is active.
Service Message April 8, 2009
In order to streamline our server operations, the following will take effect on May 1, 2009.
For those users who receive alerts via our WM2 server, your alerts will be moving to the primary server. For the past 4 years, WM2 has been operating on a secondary server because some e-mail system were not fully compliant with ours. To reduce costs and redundancy, we have begun to merge the WM2 operations to the primary server. This transfer of operations will take about 3 weeks.
Most e-mail systems have either adopted our domain as a "trusted domain" or will be fully compliant by May 1, 2009. There are a few of those that have made it clear they will not comply with our request to be "whitelisted" or be placed in a "trusted domain" status. This could cause your alerts to be delayed or not delivered at all. To remedy this, you must contact your e-mail administrator to resolve this issue.
If you receive MOBILE alerts through our WM2 server, you will be unaffected by this change and will continue to receive your alerts normally. If you receive E-MAIL alerts through the WM2 server, or have had past problems in receiving alerts through our normal mode, please check with your e-mail administrator to allow weathermaster.biz as a trusted domain. Failing to do so may cause a problem in receiving your alerts.
We apologize for any problems this might cause.
